Established in 2016 as “New Life Jars” making candles was a way of passing the time while the second Dan was working interstate. Right from the initial outset, it was a focus that we would always reduce our environmental impact by only using recycled, reused or repurposed jars. This focus still rings true today will ALL our candles jars and packing materials being given a second life. Wherever possible a focus on being environmentally friendly runs through to all our products.
After 4 years of experimenting with candles, and selling them to loved ones and colleagues, we decided to expand into other ranges of products including room diffusers, body wash and hand wash. Hand sanitizer and car diffusers followed not long after with our latest addition being Lip balms. Given this expansion a new name, new (yet similar) logo and branding was required and hence, Candleman Dan was born.
Candleman Dan began as a 1 man show to keep myself occupied, however, friends would come over and help make candles, the kids would help save jars and also help rescue jars and containers from ops shops, garage sales and giveaways, and I eventually roped in the sister in law to spend some quality time together, thus the motely crew was added to encompass all my unofficial helpers.
People always ask “how are you so cheap compared to others?” Our answer is simple. No frills. We at Candleman Dan don’t believe in creating extra pollution, so all or products are packaged as simplistically as possible. No wasted boxes, no fancy packaging that just ends up in the bin, and by doing this, we eliminate any additional costs we, as a business, would need to pass on to you. Keeping cost down and helping the environment at the same time.
By sourcing Australian made, environmentally sustainable and eco friendly ingredients, our promise is to provide quality products that care for the environment from production, through to finished product. Our Hand and Body wash is made from 80% coconut derivatives, our glass is all recycled and our shipping boxes and packaging is all recycled, so you can rest assured that when you buy Candleman Dan products, you are contributing to minimizing our environmental impact.
